Contractors, Companies Come Together at Jazan Economic City

Saudi Aramco introduced local contractors to the Jazan Economic City (JEC) and the Refinery Complex in a workshop, encouraging contractors to register as vendors. The JEC and Refinery Complex will create opportunities for partnerships for local contractors with the existing engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors. Included on the agenda was an introduction to the Jazan Refinery and the Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle Power Block, the two main components of the JEC program. The workshop opened with a session introducing the projects and opportunities. This was followed by an informal session where the contractors met individually to discuss these projects and opportunities. The EPCs were each allocated a space where they set up information tables from where they discussed their projects with individual local contractors. The roundtable discussion topics included project details, labor and other resource requirements, and sub-contracting project opportunities. The workshop was attended by more than 50 people, including Saudi Aramco officials, JEC EPC contractors, and Jazan local contractors.
