SAEEA 27th Reunion

Saudi Aramco Ex-Employees Association (SAEEA) celebrated its 27th Reunion and Eid Milan on April 21, 2024 at Arena Club, Karachi. The highlights of the function are as follows:

  • A total of 124 people attended the function (61 men, 49 women and 14 children).
  • Four new members joined SAEEA during the 27th reunion; Salim Akhtar, Iqbal Ahmed, Abid Rizvi and Syed Muhammad Arshad. They were accompanied by their families. Iqbal Ahmed is Canadian and is currently on a visit. All new members showed great interest in SAEEA activities and which will definitely add value to SAEEA.
  • All attendees met with their old buddies and enjoyed the event.
  • The event started with the recitation from the Holy Qur’an by SAEEA Vice President Engr. Iqbal A. Khan; followed by NAAT by Engr. Syed Waqar Fakhri.
  • Stage Secretary Syed Shahid Ali briefed the audience on club restrictions and gave complete details of SAEEA 27th reunion program.
  • In his speech, President Kamal Farooqi updated attendees about the activities of SAEEA between the 26th and 27th reunions.
  • A total of eleven people passed away between the 26th and 27th reunions. They are:

    • Riaz Ahmed, Aviation, Dhahran

    • Syed Aminur Rahman, from Material Supply, Dhahran
    • Naeem Gill, from Drilling, Dhahran
    • Wife of Jan Mohammad
    • Sister of Kamal Farooqi
    • Grandson of Kamal Farooqi
  • Also, some of our colleagues have been sick and not in a position to attend the event. We all pray for their speedy recovery and wish for their attendance at the next reunion. They are:

SAEEA 27th Reunion

  • Kamal Farooqi apprised the audience that the reunion event is in celebration of Eid and to recognize SAEEA's fourteen years of existence since its founding on October 10, 2024. During this period, SAEEA has been endeavoring to satisfy the needs of all members. Until recently we had been managing our own website. Now since we started our own News Bulletin, we discontinued the website. Two editions have been issued already. We are working on the third one, so, we request all the members provide feedback to our VP, Engr. Iqbal A. Khan. Successful visit of our Vice President to Houston, USA and attendance of our GS in Aramco reunion at Dhahran. SAEEA regular visits to deceased and ailing members.
  • SAEEA has continuously been awarding its Members just for their attractions; in shape of Lucky draw, cash, or gifts. This was only because of DONATIONS from certain Members. Some of them are not with us and some have left the Country. The main names: the late Ateequrrahman, late Anwar Mirza, Abdul Jabbar, in USA, Asif Mirza, Abdul Latif, in USA, Younus Shaikh, in USA and few others. Now, there is scarcity of funds and we are unable to do the same practice. Therefore, I request the Members to come forward with donations. This will help distribute the gifts etc. for more attractions.
  • SAEEA subscription. SAEEA has been trying to manage two events from the current subscription of Rs.4000 (Rs.3500 + 500). As a result of increased prices in the market, now it is near impossible to manage two events of Aramco standard, with this amount. So, from next year (July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025) the subscription will be Rs.5000 instead. (Rs.4500 as an annual subscription and Rs.500 as an annual membership subscription.)
  • SAEEA account is very well maintained and checked/cleared by audit every year. If anyone wishes to check the SAEEA account, he may contact our Finance Secretary. Otherwise, state his/her desire to see the account. We will then contact him/her as soon as possible.
  • SAEEA always tries to update its members about any incident. It is requested to all Members to immediately apprize SAEEA whenever they know any information about any member. Furthermore, after seeing the news we expect them to call the member or its family by themselves, instead of placing their feelings in the SAEEA group.
  • Five of our Member are currently in Saudi for performing UMRAH. SAEEA congratulates them. They are (a) Ghulam Qutubuddin Khan (b) Fakhra Begum (3) Qazi Abdul Basit (4) Qazi Ahmed Naseer and (5) Syed Muhammad Yahya.
  • Today, SAEEA added four new members (i) Salim Akhtar (ii) Iqbal Ahmed (iii) Razi Abidi and (iv) Syed Mohammad Arshad
  • The total strength of SAEEA is out of 263, 59 passed away. The leftover is 204.
  • SHERO ADAB: SAEEA so far has four gatherings of SHERO ADAB. However, because of certain hurdles the fifth one is still pending. The next program will be announced soon.
  • SAEEA two office bearers visited and attended 1st reunion gathering of the newly established Ex-Employees Association in Lahore, Pakistan. If anyone needs any assistance, please coordinate with Arif Qamar.
